Ray Tracing Performance
In the game, you can enable Ray Traced Reflections. The options are “Medium”, “High” and “Ultra.” We will show graphs on each card at each resolution comparing all modes to see how turning it on affects performance.
GeForce RTX 3080 FE
First up is the GeForce RTX 3080 FE at 1080p. Enabling Ray Tracing at Medium drops performance 22%. There isn’t a large difference between Medium, High and Ultra though. Turning on Ultra drops performance from No Ray Tracing by 27%. All levels here are playable.
At 1440p we start to see some bigger differences. Ultra Ray Tracing is 37% slower than without. We are actually under 60FPS at 1440p with Ray Tracing, it really brings down performance.
Turning on Ray Tracing at any level at 4K is just a no-go, even on the RTX 3080 FE. It brings down performance by 44% at Ultra.
GeForce RTX 3070 FE
On the GeForce RTX 3070 FE it can just barely maintain near 60FPS at Ultra Ray Tracing. That’s a 34% drop in performance.
It seems turning on Ray Tracing at 1440p makes the RTX 3070 FE pretty much unplayable. That’s a 40% drop in performance.
Ray Tracing is absolutely not playable on the RTX 3070 FE at 4K. That’s a 47% performance drop with Ultra Ray Tracing.
Ray Tracing Card Comparison
At 1080p and “Ultra” Ray Tracing quality the GeForce RTX 3080 FE is 24% faster.
At 1440p and “Ultra” Ray Tracing quality the GeForce RTX 3080 FE is 26% faster than the RTX 3070 FE.
At 4K and “Ultra” Ray Tracing quality the GeForce RTX 3080 FE is 35% faster than the RTX 3070 FE.
