Power and Temperature

To test the power and temperature we perform a manual run-through in Cyberpunk 2077 at “Ultra” settings for real-world in-game data.  We use GPU-Z sensor data to record the results.  We report on the GPU-Z sensor data for “Board Power” and “GPU Chip Power” when available for our Wattage data.  For temperature data, we report the GPU (Edge Temp of the GPU) as well as the Hot Spot (Junction Temperature) when available for our temperature data.

The graph shows that the power draw is very similar whether the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 Twin Edge OC video card is overclocked or in the factory default.  The Radeon 6600 is 25 Watts lower power draw.  When looking at the temperatures, this behavior is much like what we have seen in all our reviews.  The overclocked video card has a different fan profile and thus runs a bit cooler than the factory default.  In this case, our Radeon card is running hotter.

Screen captures of the GPUZ data are seen below, the overclocked data is in the middle and default on the right.

SUMMARY

The ZOTAC Gaming Geforce RTX 3050 Twin Edge Oc video card was evaluated today. Overall its performance falls below the competition. The efficiency and cooling solution are very good, however. While the performance lacks, the value is buoyed by the Ray Tracing and upscaling choices it offers.
