200W TDP Testing

For our 200W TDP clock testing, we have configured our CPU to run at a fixed all core speed of 4.8GHz on the performance cores and 3.8GHz on the efficiency cores. This yields a fairly steady 200w CPU package power draw when running Cinebench. Stock settings were set for voltage (and all other defaults), and configured memory to XMP mode.

Max Fans – 100% Pump Speed

SilverStone IceMyst 420 200w load testing performance results at max fans

Starting the bidding in our baseline 200W load testing, the SilverStone IceMyst 420 notched a temperature of 63 degrees Celsius without its three add-on iMF70 fans and 62 degrees with the three fans installed. The Cooler Master 360 ATMOS and Corsair H170i ELITE both turned in a 67-degree Celsius performance.

Note that at this speed, the SilverStone IceMyst 420 was running at 1600 RPM, the Cooler Master 360 ATMOS is running at around 2500 RPM and the Corsair H170i ELITE is running at 1500 RPM.

1500 RPM Fans – 100% Pump Speed

Bumping the fan speed on the SilverStone IceMyst 420 down to 1500RPM (from its maximum of 1600 RPM) resulted in no change in temperature to the stock configuration, however, the three add-on fan scenario went up a degree to tie it at 63 degrees Celsius. The Corsair H170i ELITE maintained its 67-degree Celsius result as it had no change in fan speed from the maximum test. The Cooler Master 360 ATMOS warmed up to 70 degrees Celsius.

1000 RPM Fans – 100% Pump Speed

Bringing fan speeds down to 1000 RPM, we found the SilverStone IceMyst 420 both with and without its add-on fans to perform at 66 degrees Celsius. The Corsair H170i ELITE warmed to 70 degrees Celsius and the Cooler Master 360 ATMOS headed up to 75 degrees Celsius.

600 RPM Fans – 100% Pump Speed

Finally, at the 600 RPM fan speed, the SilverStone IceMyst 420 with and without its fans landed at 71 degrees Celsius. The Corsair H170i ELITE and Cooler Master 360 ATMOS tailed it at 76 and 87 degrees Celsius, respectively.

250W TDP Testing

For our 250W TDP clock testing, we have configured our CPU to run at a fixed all-core speed of 5.1GHz on the performance cores and 4.0GHz on the efficiency cores. This yields a fairly steady 250w CPU package power draw when running Cinebench. Stock settings were set for voltage (and all other defaults), and configured memory to XMP mode.

Max Fans – 100% Pump Speed

Moving on up to our 250W Load testing scenario, the SilverStone IceMyst 420 delivered a performance of 76 degrees Celsius in its stock configuration. Adding the three iMF70 fans to the mix caused it to cool 2 degrees better at 74 degrees Celsius. The Cooler Master 360 ATMOS and Corsair H170i ELITE landed at 80 degrees Celsius.

Equalizing all of the fans at 1500 RPM found no change in performance for the SilverStone IceMyst 420 with it performing at 76 degrees Celsius and 74 degrees Celsius without the iMF70 fans. The Corsair H170i ELITE predictably stayed at 80 degrees Celsius due to no change in fan speed from the maximum test and the Cooler Master 360 ATMOS added a couple of degrees to reach 82 degrees Celsius.

1000 RPM Fans – 100% Pump Speed

At the 1000 RPM fan speed, the SilverStone IceMyst 420 tied up with itself between stock and with its three bonus fans at 78 degrees Celsius. The Corsair H170i ELITE landed at 82 degrees Celsius and the Cooler Master 360 ATMOS at 87 degrees Celsius.

275W TDP Testing

For our 275W TDP clock testing, we have configured our CPU to run at a fixed all-core speed of 5.1GHz on the performance cores and 4.2GHz on the efficiency cores. This yields a fairly steady 275w CPU package power draw when running Cinebench. Stock settings were set for voltage (and all other defaults), and configured memory to XMP mode.

Max Fans – 100% Pump Speed

At our most extreme test level of 275W, the SilverStone IceMyst 420 landed at 83 degrees Celsius with fans blasting at maximum speeds. Interestingly enough, the bonus iMF70 fan scenario landed a degree higher than without the bonus fans. Both the Cooler Master 360 ATMOS and Corsair H170i ELITE achieved 88 degrees Celsius.

SilverStone IceMyst 420 275w load testing performance results at 1500 rpm fans

Bumping fan speeds down to 1500 RPM across the board, the SilverStone IceMyst 420 with and without its bonus trio of fans landed at 84 degrees Celsius. The Corsair H170i ELITE hit 88 degrees Celsius while the Cooler Master 360 ATMOS hit 91 degrees Celsius.

Now that we have seen how all of our units cool, let’s see if we can still hear!
