Microsoft may be the next company to join the growing list of gaming handhelds on today’s market, which already includes the likes of the Steam Deck, Valve’s influential portable, and ASUS’ ROG Ally devices powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z1 Series processors, according to screenshots of a survey that Microsoft has been sending out to some of its readers, one that asks for feedback on what the company has described as a “gaming handheld device.” The survey comes a few months after rumors of an Xbox handheld began circulating, enabling users to play Game Pass titles and more on the go on Microsoft-designed software/hardware.

Microsoft is said to be gathering info on:

  • Native install
  • Cloud gaming
  • Usage (Windows, form factor)
  • Impact of a handheld PC alongside other hardware
