FSR 3 Frame Generation

Here we are going to look at FSR and FSR 3 Frame Generation. To date, there are not many games that support FSR 3. We have only Forspoken in our suite, but this year seems to be the start of wider acceptance. We will demonstrate the performance at 1440p and 4K resolution. The technical side of Frame Generation is discussed in this review.

Forspoken at 1440p

ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 GRE OC Edition: performance 1440p FrameGeneration FSR3

At 1440p the ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 GRE OC Edition actually does well natively. FSR will boost the smoothness by 31% but may degrade the IQ slightly. FrameGeneration is very fast, improving the smoothness quite a bit.

Forspoken at 4K

ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 GRE OC Edition: performance 4K Performance FrameGeneration FSR3

In this slide, we can see where upscaling benefits us quite a bit. FSR boosts 41% and Frame Generation 140%. This would allow us a nice gameplay experience with very smooth 4K imaging.

SUMMARY

This video card review examines the ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 GRE OC Edition. Gaming performance at 1440p is quite good in plain raster settings and also quite good in Ray Tracing utilizing upscaling. This may be a 4K card once FSR3 becomes widely available. The fit, finish and cooling of this video card is where it shines. Overclocking is a bit challenging, but the card performs well once set up correctly. The price is a bit high but the premium build of the card is obvious.
