AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, the latest iteration of red team’s gaming technology that promises heightened performance with features that include upscaling and frame generation, is still coming to Cyberpunk 2077 at some point, according to a new statement from a CD PROJEKT RED (CDPR) spokesperson that has been shared online. The news comes a day after an earnings report revealed that nobody at CDPR is working on Cyberpunk 2077 anymore, with a slide showing how the bulk of its developers are now working on Polaris, the first in a new series of Witcher games.
From a report:
- “‘We are still working on the FSR3 support for Cyberpunk 2077, but I do not have an update on its availability just yet,’ a CD Projekt Red spokesperson told IGN.”
- “Fans were left questioning whether the promised update would ever arrive after the developer told investors its Cyberpunk 2077 team had been migrated elsewhere following the release of what was assumed to be the final update in version 2.12.”
- “Some internet sleuths spotted a change to the game’s backend on PC platform Steam, however, which indicates that another update might be on the way.”
The change in question, which appears to have happened yesterday:
The end of Cyberpunk 2077. Not sure if they decided to scrap the FSR3 update or not… but I feel like there will be one (small) final patch, considering the internal QA branch was updated 6 hours ago for the first time since the last update released. https://t.co/NZYWCZiBHo pic.twitter.com/XLMQtH5liO
