The Hyte THICC Q80 Trio is being shown off at Computex and marketed as “The Highest Performing Cooler Ever Made”. While many 360 mm and even 240 mm AIOs will suffice for a wide range of CPU cooling applications, sometimes you need the biggest hammer you can find to get the job done and the Hyte THICC Q80 Trio looks like it might just fit the bill. Thicker radiator AIOs are becoming more widely available and although some don’t always manage to check all the cooling performance boxes compared to their thinner counterparts, Hyte’s new offering could be exactly what an overclocker or someone with an exceptionally powerful CPU may be looking for.

The Hyte THICC Q80 Trio features a 52mm thick radiator (heat exchanger) paired with dual pumps and a copper plate with 50% more skived fin coverage than the previous generation. Three fans inside a single enclosure provide up to 105.8 CFMs with an H20 static pressure of 8.14 mm. A 5-inch IPS 60Hz display is mounted to the block via a 180° adjustable swivel. Hyte has said that the THICC Q80 Trio will be available in Panda (B+W) and Pitch Black designs.

Per Computex Product Announcement:

“Introducing THICC Q80 Trio – the most THICC, cool, quiet, and intelligent AIO for your CPU. A 360mm long, 52mm THICC Ginormous Heat Exchanger absorbs more watts than any other liquid cooler, while the class-leading Dual Harmonic Pumps effortlessly chill the hottest CPUs. Our bigger 2nd gen copper cold plate with a 50% higher skived fin coverage and upgraded liquid flow path drops temps by up to 2°C more. THICC FP12 Trio has a refreshed omnidirectional aesthetic, integrating fans into a single frame while silently obliterating heat with the highest performance-to-noise ratio on the market. Powered by Nexus Link, THICC Q80 Trio can control an entire system’s worth of cooling and lighting off a single cable with up to 18 devices on a single port or up to 36 devices across both Type-C and Type-M channels. As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
