Arrow Lake-S, Intel’s next generation of desktop CPUs and the successor to the current Raptor Lake lineup, will officially be launching this October, according to a new report online that includes some of the rumored specs for the Core Ultra 200 Series, featuring Lion Cove P-Cores and Skymont E-Cores, with clock speeds expected in the 5.5 GHz range. The news comes a few days after AMD revealed that the Ryzen 9000 Series, its next-gen desktop processors with Zen 5 cores, would be out as early as July 2024.

From a report:

  • “Intel’s next-generation Desktop CPUs, codenamed Arrow Lake and launching under the Core Ultra 200 branding are expected to launch in October.”
  • “…the Intel Arrow Lake Desktop CPUs are expected to hit retail shelves in October followed by a proper unveiling at the next ON event which is planned for September.”
  • “…Arrow Lake CPUs will first come to the desktop platform followed by laptop chips later.”
  • “…+14% and +38% IPC increase…we are expecting [clock speeds] to be in the 5.5 GHz or similar range.”
  • “…TDPs on these chips will be 80% of Raptor Lake which means that they won’t be as aggressive as the 14th Gen parts.”

As for Lunar Lake, Intel’s latest mobile parts:

Starting Q3 2024 in time for the holiday season, Intel’s upcoming client processors (code-named Lunar Lake) will power more than 80 new laptop designs across more than 20 original equipment manufacturers, delivering AI performance at a global scale for Copilot+ PCs. Lunar Lake will get the Copilot+ experiences, like Recall, via an update when available. Building on the success of Intel Core Ultra processors and with the addition of Lunar Lake, Intel will ship more than 40 million AI PC processors this year.
