Max Hikes Price for Ad-Free Streaming Plans Ahead of House of the Dragon S2 Premiere

Max, Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service, has just gotten more expensive for those who prefer the platform’s ad-free experience, according to new price changes that are now live on various Max sites, including the service’s Help Center. The change in pricing for Max’s ad-free plans come just two weeks ahead of the Season 2 premiere of House of the Dragon, which returns next Sunday, June 16.

The updated pricing:

  • With Ads – $9.99/month or $99.99/year (16% savings)
  • Ad-Free – $16.99/month or $169.99/year (16% savings)
  • Ultimate Ad-Free – $20.99/month or $209.99/year (16% savings)

Previous pricing:

  • With Ads – $9.99/month or $99.99/year (16% savings)
  • Ad-Free – $15.99/month or $149.99/year (over 20% savings)
  • Ultimate Ad-Free – $19.99/month or $199.99/year (over 16% savings)

How the tiers compare:

  • With Ads: Stream on two devices at once, Full HD video resolution
  • Ad-Free: Stream on two devices at once, Full HD video resolution, 30 downloads to watch on the go
  • Ultimate Ad-Free: Stream on four devices at once, 4K Ultra HD video quality as available, Dolby Atmos immersive audio as available, 100 downloads to watch on the go (limits apply)
