The Elder Scrolls VI – Official Announcement Teaser, a video that Bethesda Softworks shared on its official YouTube channel to hype players up for the next chapter in its iconic series of action RPGs, is officially celebrating its sixth anniversary this month, having been published many years ago on June 10, 2018. Todd Howard, the director behind many of the critically acclaimed games, including 2002’s Morrowind and 2011’s Skyrim, reflected on the milestone over the weekend in a new interview where he declined to give any new information about the project aside from the fact that Bethesda is working hard on it.

Howard mentioned:

  • “…it’s the sixth anniversary of us releasing the teaser for Elder Scrolls VI…might be today…so that did make me pause and say, ‘oh wow, that has been a while.'”
  • “Now that we’re working on Elder Scrolls VI, and we get to see it here in the studio…you know…you do miss it…”
  • “[We] appreciate all of those thoughts and are with the fans on that…we’re working hard on it…one day, we’ll have it to everybody.”
  • “…a lot of the Starfield technology is the starting point for Elder Scrolls VI…[but] it’s secret for now.”
