Paramount+, the streaming service from Paramount Global that is partially known for its hit TV shows, including Halo and Mayor of Kingstown, will be hiking the prices for some of its plans later this summer, according to several entertainment outlets that have reported on the streamer’s updated pricing, including increases for the ad-imbued Paramount+ Essential plan. The new prices will go into effect starting on Tuesday, August 20, for all new Paramount+ customers, while existing Paramount+ With Showtime subscribers can expect to see the changes on their next billing date on, or after, September 20.

- “Existing monthly subscribers to Paramount+ Essential will continue to receive their subscription at the current price of $5.99 — and pricing of annual subscription plans for both tiers will remain unchanged (Paramount+ With Showtime is $119.99/year; Paramount+ Essential is $59.99/year).”
- “Current subscribers with the legacy Paramount+ Limited Commercial plan will see their price increase by $1, to $7.99 per month.”

Paramount+ on THE AGENCY, a new political espionage thriller that’s in development with actor Michael Fassbender:
THE AGENCY is a fresh take on the critically acclaimed hit French drama Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau internationally) and will debut on demand and on streaming for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan, before making its on-air debut. The series will also stream internationally on Paramount+ in the UK, Canada, Australia, Italy, Germany, Latin America, Brazil and Japan. The series is co-distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution and Federation Studios.
The series follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.
