PlayStation Stars, the loyalty and rewards program from Sony Interactive Entertainment that allows players to earn points by completing challenges in games to collect unique digital collectibles and other rewards, will be back online “soon” following what has been an almost month-long outage of the service, PlayStation has announced. Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong are a few of the countries where PlayStation Stars has already been re-enabled, according to posts that have been shared online, including one that explains how players can check the status of the service.
PlayStation writes:
- “PlayStation Stars is beginning a phased return and will soon be back across all regions where PlayStation Stars is available.”
- “We look forward to welcoming you back to the full PlayStation Stars experience, with Campaigns to complete, Digital Collectibles and Points to earn, and redemption options in your Rewards Catalog.”
- “PlayStation Plus members who belong to PlayStation Stars have continued to earn Points for PS Store purchases during this time, including during Days of Play.”
- “…any unused Points you earned before PlayStation Stars was unavailable are included in your Points balance, subject to the PlayStation Stars Terms of Service. You can review your current Points balance on the PlayStation Stars home screen.”
- “…you can continue to view the Digital Collectibles you’ve earned from Campaigns and Point redemptions in the Collectibles tab. You may see a different scene in your Display Case, which you can change by tapping the Display Case from the PlayStation Stars home screen and then Scenes.”

PlayStation Plus members who also join PlayStation Stars will earn points with every eligible purchase made on PlayStation Store. The points you earn can be exchanged for PSN wallet funds to save or use for your next PS Store purchase, exclusive digital collectibles for your PlayStation App display case, and more.
