Installation and Configuration

We installed the Acer Predator Hermes 32GB (2×16) 6800MHz Memory into our MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk Wifi Motherboard that is paired with an Intel 13900K processor. The RGB entered a default pattern that paired with the other RGB bling on our test rig.

By default, the modules load up the base timings described above which is PC5-44800 (5600MHz) at 50-45-45-90  however throwing the XMP switch bumped it up to PC5-54400 (6800MHz) at timings of 32-45-45-108. We were able to boot into Windows 11 and start benchmarking without an issue.

Test Setup

We will be utilizing the MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk Wifi motherboard and the other based on the Intel i9 13900K CPU. We will operate the Intel using the XMP profile and compare it to the Addgame Spider X5 RGB DDR5 6400MHz memory that we looked at last month.

Overclocking

We started by boosting the voltage to 1.4V and escalated the memory clock until it did not post at 7400MHz. Dropping down to 7200MHz, we were able to get into Windows and found the system stable at the XMP timings of 32-45-45-108  and got to benchmarking.

SUMMARY

The Acer Predator Hermes 6800MHz memory kit is built like a tank and feels like a quality memory kit in hand. It overclocks well and performs as expected making it a good candidate for your next build. Unfortunately, we can't seem to find it for sale anywhere and we don't know when it'll be on the market.
