Casper Van Dien, the American actor best known for his role as Johnny Rico in Starship Troopers, will be present for a meet and greet as part of the Starship Troopers: Extermination experience at Gamescom 2024, publisher Knights Peak and developer Offworld have announced. The event, which is set for Thursday, August 2022 from 6 p.m. CEST in Hall 10.1, Booth E021, will include a life-sized version of one of the Arachnids found in the 16-player co-op FPS, available now in Early Access via Steam ahead of its official release on October 11, 2024.
Knights Peak writes:
- “Visitors can look forward to co-operative confrontations against the merciless arachnids and photos with a life-sized bug.”
- “As a special highlight, Casper Van Dien, the main actor from the 1997 Starship Troopers movie, will be on site.”
- “Fans will have the opportunity to meet the actor in person and find out more about his role in the game. He will be supported by a squad from the Starship Troopers German Division.”
- “These cosplayers will be on hand to help him fight the alien threat. A life-sized bug directly from the video game, produced by the large-size 3D printing experts at Creative Polymer, will also be available for photos at the public booth.”
