The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, an updated version of the original Ada Lovelace GPU that NVIDIA launched in January 2024 with several improvements, including a 20% increase in CUDA Cores and a faster base clock, is a hit with gamers and other customers in the Korean market, according to new sales trends shared by a local publication that show how it has become the best-selling NVIDIA GPU in the region, followed by the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER. The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Ti remain available starting at $599 and $799, respectively.

From a report (machine translation):

  • “…due to the appearance of SUPER, the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 TI were discontinued, and their sales share plummeted.”
  • “The RTX 4070 SUPER, which is considered to have the best cost-effectiveness and balance, once rose to 14.86%, but fell slightly to 12.73% in July.”
  • “The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER has a 6.5% share, and the RTX 4080 SUPER has a 4.55% share.”
  • “What is particularly notable is that the RTX 4080 SUPER replaced the RTX 4080, which had a share of only 0.58% before its release, raising it to 4.55%. It is the only model in the SUPER series to have been released with a reduced price…”
  • “The average price of the 4070 SUPER fell by about 30,000 won over 7 months, the 4070 Ti SUPER by 70,000 won, and the 4080 SUPER by 110,000 won.”

A look at NVIDIA’s popularity in the Korean market:

NVIDIA on the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Series:

The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is the ideal GPU for maxing out games at super-high frame rates at 1440p, and up to 4K. Compared to the RTX 4070 Ti, it has more cores, an increased frame buffer to 16GB, and a 256-bit memory bus, providing a significant memory bandwidth increase to 672 GB/sec. It is 1.6x faster than a RTX 3070 Ti and 2.5x with DLSS 3.

The RTX 4070 SUPER arrives with 20% more cores than the RTX 4070, making it faster than an RTX 3090 at a fraction of the power. With DLSS 3, its lead stretches to 1.5x faster.
