Halloween, the classic slasher film franchise that comprises 13 movies and centers around horror icon Michael Myers, will be making a return in the form of two new video games that are currently in development at game studio Boss Team Games, including one that is being created in Unreal Engine 5, according to a new report. John Carpenter, the filmmaker, composer, actor, and video game enthusiast who directed the original 1978 film, is reportedly “intimately involved” with the projects, having told a publication that he’s a “huge gamer” and is hoping to “scare [players] silly.”

From a report:

  • “…one of the games is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, and will include input from original director John Carpenter.”
  • ” the games will allow players to ‘relive moments from the film and play as classic characterse from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time.'”
  • “The two new games are being developed in association with Compass International Pictures and Further Front, with the Unreal Engine 5 project still early in development.”
