The Core Ultra 2 Series, Intel’s new “Arrow Lake-S” generation of desktop processors, will be launching on October 10 with several models, including a flagship CPU called the Core Ultra 9 285K that features a total of 24 cores (8P+16E) and a thermal velocity boost (TVB) frequency of up to 5.7 GHz, according to a leaked listing of SKUs that have been shared online. The Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KS, Intel’s current flagships, in comparison, feature TVBs of 6 GHz, and 6.2 GHz, respectively.
From a report:
- “It is hoped that the Arrow Lake series processors can help Intel recover from its disadvantages.”
- “…Intel Core Ultra 2 desktop processors are expected to have 24 products, but it is certain that the flagship K series processor will only have Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, and the maximum clock speed will only reach 5.7GHz.”
- “As high as the 6.0GHz of the Intel Core i9-14900K, or even the 6.2GHz of the Intel Core i9-14900KS.”

Benchlife also noted:
Arrow Lake-S with LGA 1851 pin will abandon Hyper-Threading technology and DDR4 memory. In other words, the new Arrow Lake-S and Intel 800 series chip motherboards only support DDR5-6400 MT/s memory.
…we have also received Intel 800 series chip motherboards from various motherboard manufacturers. The shipped motherboard BIOS can only be set to “Intel Default Settings”. Users can still choose Performance or Extreme (this Projects may only appear in Core Ultra 9) and other options.
