Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, a new installment of the military shooter series that players have been able to try out over the last few days as part of an open beta, is the best game in the franchise since Black Ops III, the 2015 title from Treyarch that took the series to a far-off and technologically advanced future, in 2065, according to positive comments for the game that have been shared on social media. Black Ops 6, which is also led by Treyarch and launching for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PCs on October 25, introduces several new features to Call of Duty, including the ability to shoot while diving backward as part of the game’s Omnimovement system.
Players are saying:
- “…this is the best feeling COD I’ve played since BO3. It’s like what cold war could’ve been if it had more development time and commited more to the “black ops aesthetic.”
- “Guns all feel nice and punchy, ttk is not too fast and not too slow, little details like classic prestige, persistent lobbies, great music, winner’s circle, etc. For a beta I think it’s looking promising.”
- “I understand the criticism that it’s more of a modern warfare game than a black ops, right now, but the gameplay is fluid.”
- “Honestly it’s more my style of game compared to MW3 brain-rot soulless multiplayer.”
- “People dont wanna admit it but…complaints are mostly coming from people who arent very good or are struggling with the gamw.”
- “I have been experiencing a lot of performance issues on pc. Can’t get through a full match without a crash. But the little that I have been able to play has been a blast. Best cod since CW easily.”
Some recent promos for the game:
Activision on Black Ops 6’s new Omnimovement system:
Omnimovement is the ability to utilize familiar Call of Duty movement mechanics, but now in any direction. In Black Ops 6, you can move as you normally would in Call of Duty, but instead of only being able to do certain things exclusively in a forward direction, you can now move like an action hero in any direction. If you’re new to COD, mechanics like sliding and diving may not be familiar, but all you need to understand when getting started is that Omnimovement allows you to do those things in all horizontal directions. If you want to strafe left and right while sprinting at the same time, you can do so; if you want to run forward or backwards, you can also do that. Now you can do all those things while in a full sprint, sliding to avoid fire or slip under an obstacle, or diving through a window. The only thing you can’t do in all directions is Tactical Sprint. Operators can only Tac Sprint while moving forward. It only makes sense to be able to run that fast in a forward direction.
