Postal 2, a sequel to the 2007 German-American action comedy from Uwe Boll based on Running with Scissors and Ripcord Games’ classic first-person shooter franchise, is not happening, according to several updates on Indiegogo that show how the crowdfunding effort for the movie has failed, with project owner Gary Otto telling backers—all 16 of them ($850)—that they will be getting refunds and to “have a nice life.” Vince Desi, who founded Running With Scissors in 1996, has issued a response to the effort, noting that he has “no f*ckin’ idea” who Otto is and how he was never contacted about the project.
Desi writes:
- “The Official position of RWS is we DO NOT support this fundraising effort.”
- “I have no fuckin idea who Gary Otto, the project owner is.”
- “No one has contacted us about this effort, and it’s a major concern that he clearly states he can use any funds raised for another project.”
- “For the record I like Uwe and I look forward to the day our fans can see a new POSTAL movie but not funded like this.”
