GIGABYTE Rolls Out TDP 105W BIOS Update for 600 Series Motherboards, Bringing 13% Performance Boost to AMD Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X “Zen 5” Processors

GIGABYTE has announced that the TDP 105W setting for AMD Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors is now available as part of the AGESA 1.2.0.1a BIOS update for several of its custom AM5 motherboards, including the X670E AORUS PRO X, B650E AORUS TACHYON, and X670 AORUS ELITE AX. Those who update can expect 13% higher multi-core performance compared to the default 65-watt TDP in Cinebench R23, GIGABYTE says.

GIGABYTE writes:

  • “…the latest BIOS release to include TDP to 105W option for AMD Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors…can boost CPU performance up to 13%.”
  • “The September latest BIOS version AGESA 1.2.0.1a provides a new option enabling users to raise the CPU TDP from 65W to 105W with just one click for Ryzen 9600X and 9700X on GIGABYTE 600 series motherboards.”
  • “This new BIOS has been verified to show an approximately 13% multi-core performance boost compared to default TDP 65W by Cinebench R23 test results.”

GIGABYTE noted:

Users can download the latest BIOS from GIGABYTE website, and update easily using GIGABYTE’s ï¼ BIOS, Q-Flash, or Q-Flash Plus technology. The September latest BIOS version AGESA 1.2.0.1a for rest of 600 series motherboards will be released successively.
