Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Hotfix 2.1 Delivers Optimized CPU Behavior on High-End CPUs as Dev Promises Ultrawide Support and More with September Patch

Hotfix 2.1, a small update that delivers some early improvements for the recent launch ofWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, including reduced instances of crashing and optimized CPU behavior on high-end CPUs, is now available on PC and consoles, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have announced. The hotfix comes a day after Saber Interactive revealed that Space Marine 2 had already drawn 2 million players despite complaints from some customers about how the game made their CPUs abnormally hot.

Crashes and bug fixes:

  • Fixed some rare possible crashes when starting the game
  • Fixed a rare possible crash that occured during the first cutscene
  • Fixed several other rare crashes
  • Fixed several rare bugs that were causing soft locks in the story mode

PC-only:

  • Optimized CPU behavior on high end CPUs

A patch in September is expected to bring:

  • Ultrawide support
  • Private PvE lobbies
  • Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge
