Days Gone, the 2019 action-adventure game from Bend Studio that sees former outlaw-turned-drifter Deacon St. John battling zombie-like “Freakers” after the start of a pandemic in post-apocalyptic Oregon, is the next remaster that is coming from PlayStation Studios following Horizon Zero Dawn, according to new comments shared by Jordan Middler, a games journalist. Middler, who writes for VGC and hosts the outlet’s Video Game Podcast, tweeted today about how John Garvin, one of the writers behind Days Gone who has been slamming Bend Studio for failing to “protect the legacy” of the game and its characters, is “going to lose his mind” after he sees what remaster PlayStation plans to show at its next State of Play event, which is rumored to occur as early as next week.

Garvin tweeted earlier this month:

  • “…I see my character reduced to a cartoon schill promoting some small game…”
  • “Kinda sad that Deek has been reduced to promoting other games … well done Bend Studio! Way to protect your legacy!”
  • “I don’t know Astrobot and wish them well, but not at the expense of #Daysgone”
  • “Come at me when you’ve spent six years of your life creating and writing a character and world…”

Some trailers for Days Gone:

Game description:

Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. Step into the dirt flecked shoes of former outlaw biker Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter trying to find a reason to live in a land surrounded by death. Scavenge through abandoned settlements for equipment to craft valuable items and weapons, or take your chances with other survivors trying to eke out a living through fair trade… or more violent means.
