Palworld, the open-world survival crafting game from Japanese developer Pocketpair, is set to expand with a mobile game that will be developed by PUBG STUDIOS, South Korean video game publisher Krafton has announced. The licensing agreement between the two companies comes just two weeks after Nintendo announced that it had filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Pocketpair, one that alleges Palworld infringes on multiple patents. Palworld had a significant presence during last week’s TGS 2024 show, according to a video that Pocketpair shared during the early days of the event, which can be seen below.
Krafton Inc. (CEO Chang-Han Kim) has signed a licensing agreement with Japanese game developer Pocketpair, Inc. for the intellectual property (IP) of ‘Palworld.’ Through this contract, Krafton will expand the Falworld IP to the mobile platform. It plans to faithfully reinterpret and implement the original’s main fun elements to fit the mobile environment. The project will be handled by the development team of ‘PUBG STUDIOS,’ a creative studio under Krafton.
