Throughput Benchmarks (SEQ and RND)

CrystalDiskMark

We are using CrystalDiskMark to benchmark sequential and random throughput of read and write performance. For these NVMe SSDs, we are using the NVMe profile in CrystalDiskMark. This tests SEQ1M Q8T1, SEQ128K Q32T1, RND4K Q32T16, and RND4K Q1T1.

TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD CrystalDiskMark SEQ1M Q8T1

The rated sequential speed on the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD is 7,400MB/s read and 6,400MB/s write. According to CrystalDiskMark in SEQ1M Q8T1, we are hitting that read speed perfectly at 7,403MB/s, but what is more exciting is that we are exceeding the rated write speed at 6,655MB/s, providing an excellent result in write performance for this value-oriented SSD. At this performance level, it is actually out-performing the sequential read speed on the CARDEA A440 Pro, and very close to its write speed as well. This puts the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD in a competitive sequential read and write performance level with other SSDs here.

TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD CrystalDiskMark SEQ128K Q32T1

In SEQ128K Q32T1 the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD is again performing as expected on read performance and achieving beyond its rated write performance. This puts it within spitting distance of the A440 Pro’s write performance, which is just slightly higher.

TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD CrystalDiskMark RND4K Q32T16

In RND4K Q32T16 performance we have sorted the graph by write speed here. When doing so, you can see that the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD has a very strong random write speed at 6,119MB/s. This puts it in the top three category for write speed, sitting under the Samsung 990 PRO and the CARDEA A440 Pro itself at the top of the graph. This blows the doors off of every other SSD here on random write performance, including the Teamgroup MP44. On read performance, it is also at the top of its game, it’s not the fastest, but it is competitive and sits just under the A440 Pro.

TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD CrystalDiskMark RND4K Q1T1

In RND4K Q1T1 performance we have sorted the graph by read speed, and the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD is again third in performance here, at 76MB/s, this time even beating the A440 Pro on read speed. You can also see how strong the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD is on write speed at 267MB/s, it hands down as the fastest write speed on this graph, even beating the A440 Pro by a smidge. We have seen a clear advantage in write performance out of the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD compared to some other SSDs.

ATTO

TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD ATTO

Using the popular ATTO Disk Benchmark, the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB SSD is hitting 6.94GB/s which puts it above the Teamgroup MP44 and slightly under the A440 Pro. In this particular benchmark, the write speed does fall a bit more under the A440 Pro and Teamgroup MP44.

SUMMARY

The TEAMGROUP T-FORCE CARDEA A440 Lite 2TB PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD is a value-option A440 from TEAMGROUP, without a DRAM cache, but using a PHISON controller, and high quality 3D NAND flash, it offers great PCIe 4.0 Gen4 x4 NVMe performance and tested well with sequential and random write performance. It will offer the fastest Gen4 sequential read performance, and is well suited for gaming PCs and general purpose usage and workloads. Make sure to install a heatsink though, it can get quite toasty in cramped builds, but with the cost-savings and price value, it offers a great balance for any user.
