AMD Could Be Bringing 3D V-Cache to Next-Gen Threadripper CPUs

3D V-Cache, an innovative 3D stacking technology that AMD says enables not only the world’s fastest gaming processors, but also the world’s highest-performing server processors for technical computing, may be featured in the next generation of Threadripper processors, according to a BIOS manual for ASUS’ Pro WS sTR5 Series motherboards. At the top of page 92 is a note about 3D V-Cache and how there’s an option that allows users to override “X3D technology,” a feature that hasn’t appeared yet in current and previous iterations of Threadripper, such as the Threadripper PRO 7000 Series.
