ELDEN RING 2, a sequel to the hit 2022 action RPG that many players assumed was coming due to the critical acclaim and sales success of the original, is not currently on FromSoftware’s roadmap, according to the latest comments shared by ELDEN RING director and FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki. Miyazaki, who shared the news during this year’s PlayStation Partner Awards show in Japan (where Shadow of the Erdtree received the Grand Award), stated that his team isn’t “really considering” a sequel for ELDEN RING right now, although he clarified that FromSoftware is open to creating new ELDEN RING games in the future. Bandai Namco announced in June 2024 that ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree had surpassed 5 million units sold just three days after its release.

Dark and intense, Shadow of the Erdtree has players continue their quest with the freedom to explore and experience the adventure at their own pace. In this expansion, players step into the Realm of Shadow, a world full of mysteries and danger, riddled with more threatening bosses. ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree brings a wide array of new spells, weapons, and armor for players to create their builds and overcome challenges in their own style.
