The Radeon RX 8000 Series, a new generation of graphics cards powered by the RDNA 4 GPU microarchitecture, will comprise several models, including the Radeon RX 8800 and Radeon RX 8600, according to a recently completed commit that can be found on AMD’s GitHub page for its ROCm Software—red team’s open-source stack for GPU computation. See below for the commits that come by way of AMD’s Xuefei Jiang, which, among other things, lists a “gfx12_rx8600()” and “gfx12_rx8800.” (AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su has confirmed that the first RDNA 4 GPUs will be released in “early 2025.”)
In Gaming Graphics, revenue declined year-over-year as we prepare for a transition to our next-gen Radeon GPUs based on our RDNA 4 architecture. In addition to a strong increase in gaming performance, RDNA 4 delivers significantly higher ray tracing performance and adds new AI capabilities. We are on track to launch the first RDNA 4 GPUs in early 2025. – AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su
