ViewSonic, the American electronics company that is driven by what it says is a mission to deliver exceptional visual experiences, will be showing off a new OLED gaming monitor at CES 2025 (January 7–10) that features a 520 Hz refresh rate, according to a new report. News of ViewSonic’s alleged plans comes just two weeks after a local outlet in South Korea reported that Samsung had been developing a very fast OLED display, one that supports a refresh rate of 500 Hz. See below for some promos for the XG272-2K, a 27-inch 1440p monitor from ViewSonic that advertises a 240 Hz refresh rate and other premium features for gamers.
The most important feature of the new gaming monitor is its fast, variable refresh rate of up to 520 Hz. This is to be combined with a response time of 1 ms MPRT (Moving Picture Response Time) and support for AMD FreeSync Premium. It is assumed that the display will have a WQHD resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels and a display diagonal of 27 inches. However, details on this are not yet known.
