(PR) Acclaimed studio Digital Eclipse is excited to announce the launch of the highly anticipated MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: RITA’S REWIND today for digital on PlayStation 4 PlayStation 5Xbox Series X|SPC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch. Paying homage to the classics of 90’s arcades, MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: RITA’S REWIND was developed in partnership with Hasbro, a leading entertainment and toy company.

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: RITA’S REWIND is a brand-new brawler with an original storyline that both respects and remixes Power Rangers lore with scenarios and gameplay that will be familiar and new to MMPR fans. Developed by Digital Eclipse, the team behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection and Atari 50th Anniversary Celebration, Rita’s Rewind puts a time travel twist on the iconic Power Rangers journey.

Players will embark on a high-energy adventure battling Robo-Rita’s army of Putty Patrollers, General Goldar, and other villains from across the Power Rangers series. Gameplay evokes the spirit of arcade classics of the 90’s, allowing you to beat up hordes of enemies, pilot Zords and motorcycles in 3D sequences, and even team up in the Megazord to duke it out with overgrown boss monsters. Play as all the Power Rangers, including Green Ranger Tommy Oliver after completing the game’s story.

The title also features a pulse-pounding soundtrack by composer Sean Bialo, keeping the action dynamic and engaging, plus voice acting talent from cast members of X-Men ‘97:

  • Red Ranger: A.J. LoCascio (“Gambit,” X-Men 97 and “Han Solo,” LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga)
  • Yellow Ranger: Holly Chou (“Jubilee,”  X-Men 97 and “Chiki,” Blue Eye Samurai)
  • Black Ranger: Isaac Robinson-Smith (“Bishop,” X-Men ’97 and “CO Cunningham,” Batman: Arkham Shadow)
  • Pink Ranger: Christina Vee (“Shantae,” Shantae and “Noel Vermillion,” BlazBlue)
  • Green Ranger: James Willems (“Dolph,” Camp Camp and “Rich Dad,” Psychonauts 2)
  • Blue Ranger: Dan Amrich (Content Editor, Digital Eclipse)
  • Robo Rita: Ally Dixon (“Eep,” The Croods: Family Tree and “Nikki Narwhal,” Thelma the Unicorn)

Robo-Rita has conjured a portal to send herself back in time so she can finally vanquish the Power Rangers by forming an alliance with her younger self. Working together, Robo-Rita and Rita Repulsa rewind, rewrite, and remix the past in an attempt to stop the very formation of the Power Rangers, altering the course of history. Players can chill in the Angel Grove Youth Center and meet familiar faces as they battle and brawl their way through a variety of action-packed encounters throughout the game’s exciting episodes.

“We hope players will have a blast with Rita’s Rewind as it offers a mixture of nostalgia and familiarity with a good dose of brawling fun and surprises,” said Mike Mika, Head of Studio at Digital Eclipse. “As Power Rangers fans ourselves, our goal from the beginning was to ensure that we got the game into player’s hands before the holidays. Staying true to what made the show so iconic was key while we infused new ways to experience a game that delivered a new approach for beat ‘em ups.”

“Rita’s Rewind is the perfect addition to the Hasbro Retro Arcade,” said Eugene Evans, SVP of Digital Licensing and Strategy at Hasbro. “This game continues our commitment to fun, nostalgic experiences that we know fans will love and enjoy. We continue to deliver on our digital games strategy to license our IP to world-class partners and build our own internal studios.”

There will be two-player online multiplayer support added shortly post-release. Digital Eclipse will continue to support the game in the new year, which will include increasing the number of online players on all platforms. Fans can follow and learn more details on the official Digital Eclipse channels, and more announcements will be shared soon.
