Developer Asobo Studio has released a new patch for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which includes many fixes, improvements, and changes. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Patch 1.2.7.0 reportedly contains over 800 fixes for the recently launched title, but good luck on counting that to confirm, and it now allows players to control their full library of content via controls for enabling/disabling Marketplace 2020. Asobo states that Xbox Series X|S users may see longer loading times after deactivating Marketplace 2020 while PC users could experience performance issues due to outdated content but could resolve those issues by moving content packages to another folder before relaunching MSFS 2024.
MSFS 2024 got off to a rough launch but it is arguably the most ambitious installment yet with its upgraded engine and software design that uses internet data to reduce install sizes plus many new features. Along with a massive amount of content that comprises new and old data, it also acts as a bridge to allow veterans and new players the opportunity for an immersive experience unlike any other. Asobo Studio has established a good track record among the MSFS community for support so it’s no surprise that patches like this are rolling out and there’s likely more to come.
RELEASE NOTES 1.2.7.0 Intro:
- “Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 update 1.2.7.0 includes the ability to enable/disable Marketplace 2020 ported content on a per-item basis. To ensure that you have full control over your own library, available non-Microsoft ported content is disabled by default so you can choose what to have active in the simulator.”
- “After taking update 1.2.7.0, aircraft that was previously available to select will need to be enabled in My Library to become visible again.”
Some other changes made include reduced latency with HTTP requests and memory usage from aircraft gauge textures made by WASM with fixes for out-memory errors for Xbox users. Improvements for DLSS and optimized boot times, and a handful of backward compatibility bug fixes have also been addressed. Those seeking a status update for a particular bug fix, or other change, should visit the MSFS 2024 1.2.7.0 release notes page here. The developers have said that more content is being worked on to get ported over from Marketplace 2020, and will be available soon.
