The MX500, one of Crucial’s most popular SATA SSDs, is no longer in production, according to a new statement that the company has shared with the press. News of the MX500’s discontinuation comes about a month after a data hoarder revealed that two of their 4 TB drives had failed, but that Crucial could no longer offer replacements and only had alternatives (i.e., P3 NVMe SSDs) to provide instead. See below for a screenshot of some of Crucial’s MX500 drives, two of which have been branded as being EOL on the company’s official web shop.

The Crucial MX500 was certainly a great drive. We are making room in the line for new products and are looking forward to sharing what’s next with you soon.
