S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the new first-person survival horror shooter from Ukrainian developer GSC Game World that has been hailed by some critics as one of the best open-world games ever made, has already sold enough copies to be profitable following its release on November 20 for Windows PCs and Xbox Series X|S, according to new statements shared by GSC Game World owner Maxim Krippa. Krippa, an entrepreneur who is also known for owning NAVI (an esports team) and Hotel Ukraine in central Kyiv, additionally revealed that GSC is developing at least two DLCs for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and how there are negotiations underway with Netflix about a potential series. GSC Game World announced on November 22 that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 had passed 1,000,000 copies sold.
We have already sold enough to make the project profitable. The team worked almost 24/7 before the release. They lived this project, especially against the backdrop of war. We wanted to give the country hope and pride, to show everyone that Ukrainians can make projects of such a high level.
I would like us to get the series on Netflix. Some negotiations are underway, but the issue has not yet been resolved.
