A remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, an updated version of Todd Howard and Bethesda Game Studios’ critically acclaimed 2006 action RPG, may be unveiled during Microsoft’s next Xbox Direct event, which is slated for January, according to new rumors shared by a Spanish leaker going by the alias eXtas1s. “Love this game, and I wish that Skyrim didn’t dilute the rpg mechanics to such a ridiculous degree,” reads a positive review for the Game of the Year Edition of the RPG, which Bethesda released in September 2007, bundling the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. See below for the original word from eXtas1s regarding the remake that, per older rumors, is being developed by Virtuos and built in Unreal Engine 5, potentially releasing in 2025.
