Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a compilation of first-person shooters that comprises every Halo game developed by Bungie, as well as 2012’s Halo 4 from Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries), is headed to the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, according to the latest rumors shared by Nate the Hate, the same leaker who recently claimed that Nintendo would be revealing the successor to its best-selling hybrid video game console very, very soon.
“I suspect Oblivion is a multiplatform game; there’s just no reason to doubt that,” NateTheHate said of Virtuos’ rumored remake of The Elder Scrolls IV before claiming that “[Microsoft] Flight Simulator will come to PlayStation 5 and Switch 2, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be coming to PS5 and Switch 2 as well.”
“Now you know why Phil Spencer said there’s no red lines,” NateTheHate went on to say, referencing statements that the Xbox executive made during an interview with the press last year.
“I do not see sort of red lines in our portfolio that say ‘thou must not,'” Spencer said at the time, adding that it’s “too early to make any sort of decision on the next version of Halo” but that the “Xbox business has never been more healthy.”
“The Master Chief’s iconic journey includes six games, built for PC and collected in a single integrated experience,” reads a description for the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which launched in December 2019. “Whether you’re a long-time fan or meeting Spartan 117 for the first time, The Master Chief Collection is the definitive Halo gaming experience.”
