Eternal Strands, the new action-adventure fantasy game directed by BioWare and Ubisoft veteran Mike Laidlaw (Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Inquisition), is now available to test as part of a free demo that can be found on Steam and the Epic Games Store, according to a new post from developer Yellow Brick Games that details everything that players need to know about the demo, which is currently exclusive to the PC platform.
“At this time, the free PC demo is only available on Steam and the Epic Games Store,” Yellow Brick Games wrote before clarifying that the full game, which releases on January 28, “will be available on all platforms: Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox PC/Windows Store, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5 and Stove.”
Yellow Brick Games goes on to share the system requirements for the PC version of the game, which mentions an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, AMD Radeon RX 6800, or Intel Arc A770 graphics card for the recommended experience. An SSD with 24 GB of available space is also required.
“The demo starts at the beginning of the game and finishes at what we consider ‘Part 1,’ of the game,” Yellow Brick Games explained. “You’ll get to explore two areas of The Enclave (excluding Basecamp), encounter a handful of small enemies and fight up to three types of Epics. You’ll have access to the crafting system, all three base weapon types (Sword & Shield, Bow & Arrow, Two-Hander) as well as a limited set of magic spells to use in combat.”
“Armed with powerful magical abilities and an arsenal of magical weapons, face enemies that range from humanoid constructs to towering beasts,” reads a description for Eternal Strands. “Use the environment and temperature to your advantage in battles against a diverse roster of fantastical creatures, like turning a dragon’s fiery breath against ice-covered minions. Climb every surface and use arcane skills to create new paths. Explore the world in pursuit of the Enclave’s lost mysteries and challenge giant titans on your journey.”
