Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, the new action RPG from developer Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver that advertises rich detail and historical authenticity in a story set in 1403 Bohemia, has already managed to sell over one million copies since its release yesterday on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, according to a news post that Warhorse shared to players today on social media and Steam, one that thanks them for their support and how they helped make the project a “triumph.”
“Over a million of you have stepped into our world,” reads a pinned tweet on the official Kingdom Come: Deliverance II X account, which is dated today, February 5. ” We’re beyond grateful for your support – thank you for making #KCD2 a triumph!”
The early milestone comes a few days after some outlets began reporting on a few of the more subtle mechanics that can be found in the new game, including one where the player may be caught more often if they don’t bathe.
“Basically, if you get the debuff that, you know, your body odor, you smell, there’s like a circle around you,” senior game designer OndÅ™ej Bittner explained to a publication after one of its editors suspected that their stealth would be reduced whenever they didn’t take a bath. “Basically, you’re broadcasting, like, I’m here. So yeah, we added that. It’s actually smelling. If he would just wash or go to the bathhouse, this wouldn’t happen.”
“Wash your hands, kids,” Bittner added.
“In addition to Steam, Epic, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is coming to GOG in the spring and supports GeForce Now,” Plaion noted in a press release that went out yesterday. “Every effort is being made to ensure the game is available to the broadest audience of adventurers.”
