The Radeon RX 9000 Series, a new generation of graphics cards based on the RDNA 4 architecture that may go down in history as being one of the more mysterious GPU launches ever, will finally be revealed on February 28, AMD has announced.

“The wait is almost over. Join us on February 28 at 8 AM EST for the reveal of the next-gen @AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series,” reads a tweet from David McAfee, VP & GM of Ryzen CPU and Radeon graphics at AMD. “Get ready to make it yours when it hits shelves in early March. RSVP by subscribing to the AMD YouTube channel.”

Here’s a copy of the tweet from McAfee for those who want to hold AMD accountable in the event that the company decides to change its mind again:

“This needs to be big,” one follower told McAfee in response to the news. “nVidia has turned into what Intel was before Ryzen. Competition is necessary for us to see real innovation and to keep prices and supply manageable. Let’s see something, AMD!!”

“Just don’t disappoint us,” another said. “I’m sticking with my 7900 GRE regardless, but Nvidia is fumbling the 50 series, Intel is creeping up, and you guys have probably your last good opportunity to gain ground. The performance will, no doubt, be great, but it’s the price you need to get right.”

“Repeat after me: $599 maximum for the 9070XT or we will fail again,” opined another.
