Throughput Benchmarks (SEQ and RND)
CrystalDiskMark
We are using CrystalDiskMark to benchmark sequential and random throughput of read and write performance. For these NVMe SSDs, we are using the NVMe profile in CrystalDiskMark. This tests SEQ1M Q8T1, SEQ128K Q32T1, RND4K Q32T16, and RND4K Q1T1.

What you need to understand about the results above is that even though the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN7100 1TB SSD is not near the top of the charts here, it is only rated at 7,250MB/s read and 6,900MB/s write, and yet it is smashing its own rated performance numbers! In CrystalDiskMark at SEQ1M Q8T1 it is hitting a read speed of 7,362MB/s and a write speed of 6,929MB/s, therefore besting its rated read speed by a good amount, this is extremely positive to see. There are other drives that have higher rated performances, but the write performance in comparison is up there as one of the fastest drives, in comparison to the Samsung 990 Pro on write performance!!

Again, in SEQ128K Q32T1 the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN7100 1TB SSD bests its own rated performance for read and write performance. In fact, look at this closely, it is actually providing the HIGHEST write performance on this graph, besting even the Samsung 990 Pro now.

In RND4K Q32T16 performance the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN7100 1TB SSD is also very strong, providing a tier above in write performance once again. It offers a lot more than the Teamgroup MP44.

In RND4K Q1T1 performance, we have never seen read performance as high as the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN7100 1TB SSD is producing here at 105MB/s. At this level of read performance, it bests every other SSD on this graph with random reads.
ATTO

Using the popular ATTO Disk Benchmark, the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN7100 1TB SSD is again at the top in write performance. We have sorted the graph by write performance, and this shows a strong pull toward the write side of performance with the drive and puts it on par again with the Samsung 990 Pro on write performance.
