The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, a new “Blackwell” GPU for gamers, creators, and developers that NVIDIA says will deliver twice the performance of the Ada generation’s RTX 4070 Ti for a starting price of $749, will be just as difficult to find as the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 when it releases on February 20, according to a few reports that have surfaced online.

“According to the communication with various brand manufacturers, the actual first batch of supply and price estimates of the RTX 5070TI series are disclosed as follows,” a machine translation of one story out of China reads before going to suggest that many stores may be getting no more than 20 units:

First batch source: Direct supply customers can only get a few pieces at most, 10-20 pieces at most, and the distribution volume is very small, which is insufficient for installation and Internet cafe market demand.

Price positioning: The initial price of each brand is about 7,000-8,000 yuan, which is generally believed to be high. It may not be the final cost price for the time being, but the supply determines the price trend. Since the first batch of supply is not enough to sell, the price is likely to be around 8,000 yuan, which is 2,000 yuan higher than the RTX5080. The NV suggested retail price starts at only $749, so if the supply is gradually replenished in the future, the price may fall.

Additional claims regarding the stock levels of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti comes by way of an X account, one that claims to have heard from a vendor about how the GPU’s availability will be “on the same level” as NVIDIA’s “Blackwell” flagships:

“Using the full capabilities of the Blackwell architecture, and the power of DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, game frame rates are 2X faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti’s,” NVIDIA says of the GPU. “At 2560×1440, with full ray tracing and other settings maxed, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti owners can play Alan Wake 2, Black Myth: Wukong, and Cyberpunk 2077 at high frame rates.”
