Introduction
On March 5th, 2025, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPUs launched, and video cards based on these new GPUs became available on March 6th, 2025. Today, we have a review of the new XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition video card in this article.
The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 OC video card is based on AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GPU, this is the cut-down non-XT variant of the new RDNA 4 architecture Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 OC features custom cooling from XFX, with a factory overclock and a white color scheme in a triple-fan configuration. The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition model RX-97SWFB3W9 has an MSRP of $549.99.
AMD pre-announced the RDNA 4 powered Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 XT at CES 2025. Then, on February 28th, 2025, AMD officially officially announced the RDNA 4 architecture and the new Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 XT GPUs, as well as new features like FSR 4. Check out our announcement article, where we detailed every single presentation slide and showed everything from the press deck. The AMD Radeon RX 9070 is a cut-down Radeon RX 9070 XT, using the same die, but with cut-down CUs to meet the lower price point, and performance. Just as a quick brief on the AMD Radeon RX 9070, the Radeon RX 9070 is AMD’s midrange GPU this generation with an MSRP of $549. The AMD Radeon RX 9070 has 56 CUs, 56 hardware RT accelerators, 112 hardware AI accelerators, with 1165 peak TOPS, clocked at a boost clock of 2.52GHz with 16GB of GDDR6 with a total board power of 220W.
XFX Radeon RX 9000 Series Models
If you check out the XFX Radeon RX 9000 Series webpage, you’ll find three distinct product segmentations it offers: the Mercury Class, the Quicksilver Class, and the Swift Class. When you click on each of those on the webpage, you can find all the different models under those classes.
The class we’ll be looking at today is the SWIFT class, which is a performance model designed for casual gamers looking to play the latest games at high resolutions and graphics effects. You’ll find features like an XFX LED logo, Nickle Plated Copper Cold Plate, Double Ball Bearing fans, and great cooler performance. The SWIFT models can also carry a factory overclock, but these are basically the lower-tiered closer to MSRP pricing models available from XFX.
Under the XFX SWIFT class of cards, XFX offers both the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 GPU-based video cards. There are four distinct models, there’s the traditional black-themed design in the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, as well as a unique white-themed design in the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070.
You’ll also find that the two black and white themed Radeon RX 9070-based video cards are both “OC” models, with factory overclocks, while the two RX 9070 XT models operate at the AMD reference clocks. Therefore, whether it is the black-themed card or white-themed card with the XFX SWIFT Radeon RX 9070 you’ll have a factory overclock out-of-the-box. The model we are reviewing today is specifically the White Triple Fan Gaming Edition OC model RX-97SWFB3W9.
XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition
The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition has a factory overclock that is set at a turbo clock frequency of up to 2700MHz and a game clock frequency of up to 2210MHz. If you compare this to the AMD reference clock speeds, the AMD reference clock speed specifies a turbo clock speed of up to 2520MHz and a game clock frequency of up to 2070MHz. Therefore, the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition has a turbo clock increase of 7% and a game clock increase of 7% as well, which is a pretty decent factory overclock out of the box.

The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition comes in a tall vertical box, which is typical for XFX’s packaging. Inside, XFX has gone all out with the white theme by packing it in white foam, so you get that white theme through and through. For this model, the included materials are slim, with just a quick installation guide included, no adapter cable needed or GPU stand either, this is a very light video card to begin with.

The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition measures 32.5cm x 15cm x 6.5cm or 12.8in x 5.91in x 2.56in and is a 3.5 slot video card and the package weight is 5.07 lbs. XFX recommends an 800W PSU and it uses standard 2x PCIe 8-pin power connectors. In terms of outputs, it has 3x DisplayPort 2.1 and 1x HDMI 2.1. Notably, you’ll see the all-white shroud and backplate, though the PCB is not white and has a triple axial fan cooling configuration with an air-passthrough.

The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition uses XFX’s triple fan design with three simple fans on the shroud, and these fans do have a circular ring around the edge for stability. The airflow exhausts out the top and bottom of the video card, and also the air passthrough on the rear of the video card. Though the front grill is vented, the heatsink is not and no air flow occurs through the back-end.
We can see five heat pipes weaving their way through the aluminum heatsink and the cold plate is nickel-plated and makes direct contact with the GPU. Thermal pads are used on the memory and VRMs. We can see the two standard 8-pin power connectors positioned at the end of the PCB, which happens to be the middle of the video card itself. The clips are positioned outward toward the edge, so taking off the cables makes it much easier to get your fingers into position to remove the cables. This video card does feature a dual-BIOS and has a switch on board, which out-of-the-box performs the same in either mode.

The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition has a single white LED XFX logo atop the video card that lights up, it is a static LED, and with it being white matches the theme of the video card.
