Test Setup

System Setup Table

We are using an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D for testing. We are using the motherboard’s current default BIOS settings on the latest release BIOS. We have enabled PCI-Express Resizable BAR in the motherboard BIOS. We have enabled EXPO I in the BIOS for the memory. We are using a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro with the latest Windows Updates, including the 24H2 update. We have the latest drivers installed, including the latest chipset drivers.  We are using the “Balanced” power profile in Windows Settings, and Core Isolation/Memory Integrity (VBS) is enabled.

AMD provided us with a press driver for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 reviews. We also used this driver for all the AMD comparison data in this review so that every GPU was on the same driver for a true comparison. This driver is labeled 24.30.31.03 in version number and will be the new driver talked about in the AMD announcement, 25.3.1.

SUMMARY

The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition Video Card offers a factory overclocked Radeon RX 9070 RDNA 4 powered video card that offers a great 1440p gameplay experience, even with Ray Tracing. Thanks to its 2700MHz boost clock factory overclock, it competes extremely well with the GeForce RTX 5070, outperforming it in many games and giving an overall better experience with 16GB of VRAM. With this model being closer to MSRP, its value is high, and it runs cool and power efficient as well.
