Looking like a collaboration between PIXAR and Tim Burton, R.E.P.O is a single-player/online co-op with up to six players. Games come and go from Steam’s charts like a one-hit wonder or fashion fad all the time but every now and one manages to quickly attract a large player base and R.E.P.O. did just that. The comedy/horror game set sometime after the fall of humanity hit a peak of 271,571 players a couple of days ago and while its player counts have dipped it has managed to stay between 100K-200K since its February 26 early access release.
At $9.99, and an install size of 1GB, developer semiwork has hit a home run with the game having an overwhelmingly positive ranking from over 50,000 users (currently at over 96% from over 66K user reviews). The majority of the praise comes from its online co-op support where players often mention how the game’s funny moments increase with more participants with enjoyment in setting up each other for the fall. The most common complaints or criticisms are its emoji-styled mascot and connection issues. Otherwise, the game which has been favorably compared to Lethal Company, but with vastly different visual design is said to feature the best elements of that game. R.E.P.O (The Retrieve, Extract, & Profit Operation) is described as “fully physics-based objects and handle them with care as you retrieve and extract to satisfy your creator’s desires.”

The developers have been graciously giving thanks to the gaming community for its support and are working on adding more maps. They have also been posting video updates answering the most commonly asked questions regarding the game’s continued development. It definitely has a fun, warped, feel to it and the basic visual design looks well thought out for its story.
