Gameplay Performance
In the section below, we are comparing performance at 1440p (2650×1440) as this is the primary target resolution for the XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition. We are comparing the performance to an MSI GeForce RTX 5070 12G GAMING TRIO OC. In-game, we use the highest presets.
Alan Wake 2
The game is nicely playable for both video cards. The XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition has a higher FPS by 16%, and overclocking adds 6%.
Black Myth: Wukong
At 1440p, Black Myth is unplayable until upscaled. The XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition is better here by 7% and 5% with upscaling. Overclocking adds 6%.
Claire Obscur: Expedition 33
A newly added game to our suite, this is a graphically intense game. The game uses “always-on” Ray-Tracing for calculating lighting effects. Neither card can push to playable without upscaling. With that, the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 GAMING TRIO OC is 3% quicker here.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk is nicely playable at native resolution. The XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition is a whopping 15% faster. Overclocking will add 6%.
DOOM: The Dark Ages
A second brand-new game for your pleasure. The game runs smoothly and fast, and it needs to be in this old-school shooter. This is another game that utilizes “always-on” ray-tracing for lighting effects. The XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition is on top by 10% here and 6% with upscaling. You get 6% free frames with overclocking.
Horizon Forbidden West
Smooth gameplay here with fast FPS. The XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition is best by 24% and 15% upscaled. You gain 5% overclocked.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
The results tighten up in this game, another that has “always-on” ray-traced lighting. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 GAMING TRIO OC is the better of the two cards in this game by a slim 5%. You will gain that 5% back if you overclock….FTW.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Both cards are playable here natively with smooth gameplay. The XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition will give you a better performance by a slim 3%. Once again, however, you will gain 7% performance if you overclock.
Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws is a tough game graphically, partly due to the “always-on” ray-traced lighting. The XFX QuickSilver Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition comes out ahead by 7%. Overclocking will gain 8% performance.
