XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition Video Card

Introduction

On March 5th, 2025, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPUs launched, and video cards based on these new GPUs became available on March 6th, 2025. In today’s review, we will take a look at another of the XFX video cards in the newly released Radeon RX 9000 graphics card series. We will put the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition (RX-97TSWF3W9) through our usual testing process and see how it fares. As you can well see, this card has quite a name attached to it.

XFX has three tiers of video cards in its Radeon RX 9070 XT lineup. The top tier is the Mercury, the middle tier is the QuickSilver, and the lower tier is the Swift. Only the top tier is overclocked from the factory. The QuickSilver and Swift tiers are essentially identical offerings, save for cooling features and overall design.

We have reviewed several of the RX 9000 models from XFX. You can learn a lot more about their design scheme in this article. What this means is you will receive a card with reference-based clocks; the Game clock is up to 2400MHz, while the Boost clock is up to 2970MHz. Features of the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition according to XFX: “The Swift class exemplifies a modern aerodynamic style through a clean and elegant design. It is a thoughtful design with the sole purpose of maximizing airflow to improve cooling and performance. The Swift line of graphics cards is XFX’s entry-level line of graphics cards. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition video card arrived to us in a sealed retail package. The usual box-in-a-box packaging kept the card well protected. All you see on opening is a placard describing the warranty and the video card in a thick plastic bag.

The video card is all white with a brushed aluminum backplate. On the top right edge is an LED XFX logo. The top shroud is thick plastic and holds three 100mm 11-bladed white double ball bearing axial fans. Just under the shroud, you can see a generous aluminum finned heatsink that runs the entire length of the shroud and uses 6mm heatpipes. The backplate also wraps around the heatsink slightly and has a large cut-out on the right end for increased ventilation. The front and rear of the card are also open slightly for airflow. All of this, including the nickel-plated heatsink, is dubbed the Ghost Thermal system by XFX and is in its 4th revision on our XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition card.

The design of this video card is simple, but the lines are clean, and the white color works very well. Overall, the card feels sturdy with an excellent fit and finish. The card measures 12.8″ x 5.91″ x 2.56″ inches according to XFX. If you measure the video card with a ruler in English Imperial measure, it is 12 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches (3.5 slots overall) and weighs in at 3 pounds 1.4 ounces. It has 3x DisplayPort 2.1 and 1x HDMI 2.1 on board. The Total Board Power is listed at 304 Watts, and an 800-Watt PSU is recommended at minimum. The card requires two 8-pin PCIe connectors. There is a very generous cut-out on the back for easy placement of the connectors. This video card is PCIe Gen 5.0 x16 capable.

SUMMARY

This article reviews the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition video card. This is a very well built card with a simple design appeal. The cooling is excellent and quiet. Gaming performance is quite good in plain Raster, trading blows evenly with the more expensive RTX 5070 Ti. The card is not as successful in ray tracing enabled games. At 1440p gaming this video card would be an excellent choice, and it offers a better value proposition compared to more expensive Radeon RX 9070 XT's, and the more expensive GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, this is simply a better value for 1440p gaming.
