Gameplay Performance
In this section, we chose a game resolution of 1440p (2650×1440) as this is the target for the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition. Our comparison video card is the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION. Within this game suite are four games that utilize “always-on” ray tracing for lighting effects, these are: Claire Obscur: Expedition 33, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and Star Wars Outlaws. As always, we select the highest in-game quality preset.
Alan Wake 2
Both the video cards provide a playable result at default. In fact an identical result. The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition provides 6% more with upscaling, but it isn’t needed here. Overclocking gains 4%.
Black Myth: Wukong
Neither card is playable here. In fact essentially another dead heat. Upscaling provides the needed lift to playable, with another draw. The overclock gained 6%.
Claire Obscur: Expedition 33
Neither card was “technically” playable, but it’s close. Here, the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION is 3% faster. Upscaling gives a playable edge to the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition by 5%. Overclock helps a little, 3%.
Cyberpunk 2077
These numbers are pretty impressive, with the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition just coming out ahead by 2%. Upscaled the margin is 4%. Overclock gains the same 4% increase. The framerates are very fast in this game, either way.
DOOM: The Dark Ages
Both video cards play fast in this game, separated by only 1%. Upscaling favors the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition by 10%. The overclock gets you 5% here.
Horizon Forbidden West
This game also shows very fast, playable FPS. The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition widens the gap in this game by 15% with a 9% gain using upscaling. Overclocking has a minimal effect, 1.5%.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Another game with fast FPS and smooth gameplay. This time, the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION enjoys a 20% margin. Upscaling widens that to 29%. Overclocking is minimal at 2%.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Nicely playable results here. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION has the advantage at 7% and 10%. Overclocking is a 3% uplift.
Star Wars Outlaws
A smooth, fast, playable result for both cards. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION is 10% faster here. On upscaling, the margin shrinks just a little to 6%. Overclock is 4%.
