Gameplay Performance – Ray Tracing Specific

In this section, we enable ray tracing options that are available in-game. Otherwise, the settings are the same as in the previous section. One exception, Black Myth: Wukong. For that game, the resolution is reduced to 1080p for improved performance.

Alan Wake 2

The game is not playable without upscaling. For what it’s worth, the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION has a 30% margin. With upscaling, the deficit is 21%. Overclocking does improve FPS by 9% here.

Black Myth: Wukong

Even at 1080p, this game in cinematic is just too much for either video card. The XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition just plain chugs, while the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION does a bit better by 50%. Neither is playable. Upscaled the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION is playable.

Cyberpunk 2077

Once upscaled, both of the video cards fly through this game. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION does a bit better by 7%. In native resolution, only the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION is playable, and the difference is 20%. Overclocking is only minimally beneficial.

Star Wars Outlaws

This game is very rough, with the optional ray tracing added in. It’s a bust natively, and only the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION barely reached playable. The difference is 30% and 21% with no overclocking gains.

SUMMARY

This article reviews the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition video card. This is a very well built card with a simple design appeal. The cooling is excellent and quiet. Gaming performance is quite good in plain Raster, trading blows evenly with the more expensive RTX 5070 Ti. The card is not as successful in ray tracing enabled games. At 1440p gaming this video card would be an excellent choice, and it offers a better value proposition compared to more expensive Radeon RX 9070 XT's, and the more expensive GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, this is simply a better value for 1440p gaming.
