The new gameplay trailer for Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening showcases its meticulous attention to detail of the popular anime. The platform shooter is being released for PC and consoles on August 26, and a playable demo can be found on Steam, PlayStation Store, and will also be made available for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Microids first announced it was working on the game adaptation back in 2023 when it revealed that it had reached an agreement with publisher TMS Entertainment. Magic Pockets has developed the game, which is based on the first 12 episodes of the 1980s anime adapted from the 1978 manga, and according to Microids, “This is not a loose homage — it’s a love letter with laser sights.”

Microids is releasing three different editions for Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening: a limited Physical release and Gold ($44.99) editions for consoles, whereas Steam users will have access to the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes all content from the Gold Edition plus the original soundtrack and a digital artbook. The base game goes for $39.99 for all platforms.
