Thermalright has released the HR-10 2280 PRO Digital SSD cooler, available in black or white, giving users the means to monitor their NVMe drive. While many CPU coolers offer the means to show pictures, GIFs, and sometimes even short videos, this beefy-looking SSDcooler features a nifty digital display on top to show something much more useful. It can be configured to show statistics such as temperatures, transfer speeds, and possibly available storage capacity (an image from Thermalright shows a percentage but doesn’t indicate what is being reported on). One major catch, for right now anyway, is that Thermalright has launched the HR-10 2280 PRO Digital only in China (according to Tom’s Hardware), but it’s believed to be coming to North America sometime soon.
With 4x 5mm copper heat pipes, an aluminum heatsink, a thermal pad rated at 14.8 W/mk, and a 30mm 12V PWM fan capable of 3,500-6,500 RPM, the cooler is designed to aid in optimal performance of a 2280 NVMe drive. The current overseas price shows a $3 price increase over the version without a display, at approximately $20 (although those desperate to get one now before a global release will have to pay $32.53 on Ali Express). However, those interested should check that their system has sufficient clearance available for the cooler, as it measures L90.3 mm x W26 mm x H51 mm. The digital display uses a USB 2.0 connector to obtain data from the system. All in all, Thermalright has made a very clean-looking design for the HR-10 2280 PRO Digital, and if it launches in North America at a similar price point as in China, it could be on the shortlist for PC owners wanting optimal cooling with an easy way to check on their drive’s status.
