Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong was released in August of 2024 and is based on the Unreal Engine 5. Black Myth: Wukong features realistic lighting, shadows, a detailed environment detailed by motion capture, and utilizes the Lumen Global Illumination lighting system. The game also features Ray Tracing, global illumination, and shadows. We are utilizing the game’s built-in graphics preset options for main graphics and Ray Tracing. We are also using the DLSS and Upscaling option at 66% quality mode for all GPUs. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing. We are reporting the Low 5th result from the benchmark result.
Native Resolution
The first graph below is at the “High” quality preset, the second graph is at the “Medium” quality preset at 1080p.

Black Myth: Wukong is a very demanding game, even at 1080p, and there is no way the GeForce RTX 5050 is capable of running at the Cinematic quality setting. Even at the “High” graphics setting, you can see that above the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO is not playable at 50FPS. However, with DLSS Upscaling enabled, it is playable at High, running 77FPS. Otherwise, you’ll need to lower the quality setting down to “Medium” to play at Native Resolution 1080p, with 67FPS average or 102FPS DLSS Upscaling.
At the “High” setting, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO is 72% faster than the GeForce RTX 3050, which is a pretty good performance upgrade over the GeForce RTX 3050. It is on par with the GeForce RTX 4060 and Radeon RX 7600 in this game. Overclocking only adds 4% more performance. When we lower the settings down to Medium, then the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO is 63% faster than the GeForce RTX 3050, still pretty good. The ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO is again on par with the GeForce RTX 4060 and Radeon RX 7600. Overclocking adds 4% more to performance.
Ray Tracing w/ DLSS Upscaling

Believe it or not, there is a way to make Ray Tracing somewhat playable on the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO in this game. If we run the game at the “Medium” quality preset and then enable Ray Tracing on “Low” with DLSS Upscaling Quality enabled, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO averages near 60FPS, and overclocked at 60FPS. With Ray Tracing, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO is 87% faster than the GeForce RTX 3050, again showing how much better Ray Tracing performance is on the RTX 5050 from the RTX 3050. The ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5050 SOLO, however, is 6% slower than the GeForce RTX 4060.
