AJA System Test & AS SSD
For these tests below, we have left the profile policy on “Best Performance,” but we have specifically disabled “Write Caching” so that it will not skew results with these smaller file sizes.
AJA Video Systems System Test

One of the benefits of the ORICO K20 Mini 1TB Ultra-thin Magnetic Portable SSD is the ability to record video from your phone or device, and ProRes is a popularly supported format. According to AJA Video Systems System Test, the ORICO K20 Mini 1TB Ultra-thin Magnetic Portable SSD does very well on performance, actually beating out both other external portable SSDs on read. On read performance, it pulls 1729MB/s, and on write performance 1585MB/s. This greatly exceeds that of the MSI DATAMAG 20Gbps Magnetic Portable SSD, with its slow read of 682MB/s. The MSI DATAMAG has a strong write performance, and the ORICO K20 Mini 1TB Ultra-thin Magnetic Portable SSD beats the ADATA SC740 on both.
AS SSD

In AS SSD’s copy benchmark, ISO performance, the ORICO K20 Mini 1TB Ultra-thin Magnetic Portable SSD is 22% faster than the MSI DATAMAG 20Gbps, but 32% slower than the ADATA SC740.

In Program files, apparently, the ADATA SC740 walks away with a huge outlier lead. The ORICO K20 Mini 1TB Ultra-thin Magnetic Portable SSD is 8% faster than the MSI DATAMAG 20Gbps, and 58% slower than the ADATA SC740.

Finally, in Game files, the ORICO K20 Mini 1TB Ultra-thin Magnetic Portable SSD is 4% faster than the ADATA SC740 and 4% slower than the MSI DATAMAG 20Gbps Magnetic Portable SSD.
